Abstract
The social identification constitutes one of the essential psychosocial factor to understand key group phenomena as leadership, cohesion or commitment developed in institutions and organizations of security and defense. In this article are analyzed processes and factors that favor the identification and building of unit identity. On the other hand, are explained too negative ways of group identification that can affect to the unit efficiency.
