Abstract

The field of Defense has not been alien to the solid relationship between Spain and Ibero-America, based on historical and cultural reasons. In the context of a Diplomacy of Defense, since the beginning of the last decade of the last century successive Spanish Governments have used the military instrument in numerous multilateral initiatives of different characteristics that involved Iberoamerican counterparts. The present work describes those practices until the middle of the present decade, including the swings that the idea of an Iberoamerican Peace Force, which never managed to crystallize.
